Objective
Quick checking of an operator’s insulation resistance to the floor, when the latter have to work in restricted areas where static electricity is present
Checking of various conductive equipment used for the protection against electrostatic hazards
Principle
The accumulation of static electricity by an operator may lead to a degradation of quality of the products used or a malfunction of some parts of the equipment. In some cases, static electricity may also be dangerous to the operator’s safety or to his environment.
These risks may be prevented by using conductive equipment which carries electrostatic charges to the ground, thus preventing any accumulation.

Operators generally wear conductive shoes, and floors are either built in constructive material or covered with conductive cloth. Other devices, positioned at the operator’s onkles or arms are also frequently used.
Technical features
  • 10 to 100,000 kohms measurements, with 100 V test voltage for values exceeding 1,000 kohms
  • Global accuracy : + / – 5% of the measured value
  • Double detection of resistance thresholds: maximum value to prevent electrostatic hazards and minimum value to prevent hazards entailed in industrial voltages
  • Threshold range (precision + / – 5%), controlling the security/danger signal lights and the buzzer
  • Selection of operation among 4 threshold couples (max and min values) according to  SNPE’s rule / AFNOR standard / DIN standard / ISO standard
  • Battery-powered, which ensures one year’s average self-sufficiency ; automatic control and reduced self-sufficiency alarm
